Scott Whitaker

Scott is the President of the BIO International Convention and COO at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO).  Prior to joining BIO, Scott served as Chief of Staff and Assistant Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services and as a senior policy advisor to United States Senator Don Nickles. Scott holds a Master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. In his limited free time, he enjoys coaching youth basketball and spending time with his family.  He and his wife, Michelle, have three children. Scott, whose family is from Kentucky, is a die-hard and somewhat irrational, University of Kentucky fan.
