The BIO International Convention and Business Forum is now two weeks away! The event will feature over 160 presenting companies, open to all International Convention attendees, and of course, will also feature thousands of partnering meetings. We spoke to one of the presenting companies, KODE Biotech, about their technology and what they’ll be doing at the event. Read on for their company snapshot.
What is your company’s lead product or technology?
KODE technology is a powerful new platform technology that can allow users, in an hour, to modify virtually any biological or non-biological surface with virtually any bioactive molecule. KODE technology works by simple contact and requires no special equipment. This technology is particularly suitable for exploring novel biology and drug development/delivery, but can also be used in a large range of diagnostic products.
How does your company go about differentiating itself from the competition?
KODE is the only technology that can modify virtually any surface with virtually any functional molecule within an hour, with no special equipment, and without affecting the vitality of live cells, viruses or organisms.
Tell us something about your company attendees of the BIO International Convention may not know?
Several large companies have already released KODE–based diagnostic products into the market. A variety of internationally renowned universities and clinics are also using the technology, and several large pharma companies have started taking an interest in applications of KODE technology. KODE technology has been validated in 12 academic peer-reviewed publications
What are your goals for your participation in the Business Forum?
We’re looking to meet new licensees and users of KODE technology!
Is there a story behind your company name or logo?
The KODE logo device depicts the origins of the technology through carbohydrates (the hexagon) and the two head to head spirals are symbolic in Polynesian culture and meaning “life”. The word KODE is now a pseudo acronym, having lost its original meaning.
You can watch KODE Biotech’s presentation on Monday, April 22nd at 2:45 p.m. in the Chicago Cubs Room, located directly outside the main entrance of the Business Forum. For a full list of presenting companies, click here.
