BIO’s World Congress to Feature Panels on Food Ingredients and Personal Care

New speakers and sessions have been announced for the 2017 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, which will return to Montreal July 23-26 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The new sessions announced today include executives from food and nutrition companies speaking with leaders from the industrial biotechnology sector.

“The 2017 BIO World Congress will feature a full track of educational sessions on use of industrial biotechnology to produce flavorings, fragrances and cosmetic ingredients for everyday consumer items. Speakers from the food and cosmetic industries will highlight technological innovations in this sector and discuss current and future market trends,” said Brent Erickson, executive vice president of BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section.

Featured speakers on the Monday July 24 afternoon plenary session, titled Biotech and the Future of Food Ingredients, Flavorings, and Personal Care, include Andreas Birmoser, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, with  Stora Enso Biomaterials; John Melo, President and CEO of Amyris; Markus Pompejus, Vice President, Innovation and Scouting Bioscience Research at BASF Corporation and Jill Zullo, Vice President, Bioindustrials NA, Cargill.

Breakout education sessions in the Flavors, Fragrances and Food Ingredients track will feature executives from Evolva, KnipBio, White Dog Labs, Calysta, Roquette, Earthrise Nutritionals, and TerraVia.
