Brenda Schmidt reported for the Sioux Falls Argus Leader on the upcoming BIO Livestock Biotech Summit:
A former undersecretary of agriculture for food safety, Richard Raymond, will be a keynote speaker at this year’s Livestock Biotech Summit in Sioux Falls.
In addition, James Murray, professor of animal science and population health at the University of California at Davis, also will give a key presentation. Gov. Dennis Daugaard will welcome those in attendance.
The summit will highlight advances in livestock biotechnology, societal concerns about animal care and food production, and intellectual property in animal biotechnology.
The event is sponsored by the Biotech Industry Organization and will be Sept. 16-19 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
