DEA’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day is September 27

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is tomorrow – Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 – from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you have leftover medicines around your house, tomorrow is a great opportunity to dispose of them.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

You can find a list of local drop-off locations on www.dea.gov by clicking on the “Got Drugs?” icon, then entering your zip code. Or you can call 800-882-9539.  Only pills and other solids, like patches, can be brought to the collection sites—liquids and needles or other sharps will not be accepted.
