The Rosalind Franklin Award is given annually to an outstanding woman in the industrial biotechnology sector who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the biobased economy and biotech innovation. Rosalind Franklin conceived and captured Photograph 51 of the “B” form of DNA in 1952, while at King’s College in London. Registration Opens for April 2016 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology in San Diego

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, BIO officially opened registration for the 2016 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology. This year’s conference will be held April 17-20, 2016 in sunny Southern California at the San Diego Convention Center. United States Navy Achieves Renewable Energy Milestone

Today, the U.S. Department of the Navy launched the first vessels of its Great Green Fleet (GGF) at the San Diego Naval Air Station North Island, Carrier Pier.
