BIO is continually looking for ways to help its members grow and prosper. This week BIO announced a partnership with Biotech Primer Inc.—a training organization helping professionals understand the science, business, and regulatory processes essential to the biotech industry. Since its start in 2001, Biotech Primer has trained over 65,000 life science professionals worldwide.
Biotech Primer and BIO are joining forces to offer online training/education to the BIO Membership community and biotech professionals around the world.
Sometimes referred to as “Biotech for Dummies”, the curriculum focuses on the business, regulation and science of biotechnology through straight-forward, colloquial and easy-to-understand courses, broken down into digestible bits. Each course is available for one week from time of purchase and can be taken as many times as needed.
BIO members are offered a deep discount for courses covering areas such as biotech for the non-scientist—essential for employees who may not be developing technology but are working in the industry. As one senior project engineer put it, “I just finished the Biology of Biotech online course today. I really enjoyed the material and I am more comfortable speaking with my biologist friends/ network now.”
For others, there are courses in medical device & diagnostics, drug development, manufacturing and biosafety offered at three levels of difficulty: foundational, advanced, or expert.
BIO recognizes that a company’s most valuable asset is its employees. Investing in employee educational training ensures teams have the industry knowledge and tools they need to succeed in their roles and make an impact on their business for years to come.
BIO members will receive a 20% discount on individual online courses and up to 70% discount off bulk purchases. Click here to browse the online course catalog or visit bio.org/learning to learn more about this new BIO offering.
